Clearing the Leaves
The counsel were clearing up the play-park outside our flat this week and left one of their tractors just outside the sand-pit. Our brave girl couldn’t resist investigating….
Keeping out of Puddle
Autumn and Görvälns slott
Yesterday we took the car and drove about 25 mins north west of the city to Görvälns slott.
They have a nature reserve there with nice walks through the forest and along the banks of lake Mälaren. Sofia got a chance to wear her new hat and play with the fallen leaves and pine cones. Later, Sofia’s friend Fabian came by and we all had coffee and some snacks! (except for the kids who just had snacks, of course).
Versailles, La Defense and Suresnes
The rest of the week in Paris was spent staying in Suresnes in the west of the city. It was quite easy to travel in and out to the city centre and Daddy and Sofia got a good sense of what it is like to live around there while Mummy got a good sense of what it is like to sit in an office around there 😉
In Suresnes, they have a weekly market filled with lots of nice things…
It’s also about 30 mins walk from La Defense, which is the big business district (and also a district for big business). We took the train from there into town a few times and it’s actually quite nice to be there, quite open with lots of space to chase pigeons.
About 20Km out of the city, but accessible by train was the palace of Versailles. We didn’t think that Sofia would be too happy running around inside, so we decided that it would be best to just stick to the gardens. Luckily the gardens were huge and we had a great day playing and traveling around.
Sofia and Daddy had another few days just going around the city at the speed of Sofia, stopping to examine little interesting things, chewing on baguette sandwiches and finding all the best swing-parks in Paris!
Sofia in Paris
Mummy had to travel to Paris for a week to go on a training course, so Daddy and Sofia followed along between Saturday and Friday.
On the Sunday, we had a day for the whole family where we stayed in the city centre and visited the sights. A few good croissants and baguettes eaten throughout the day and the toughest thing was getting Sofia to stand still while we took her photo!
Building Sand Castles
After a bit of trial and error, we started getting it in the bucket. (A few spade fulls were mouth bound though before Daddy stepped in).
Daddy’s Birthday
Sofia and Dad had a nice day today. First they went for a run around the lake and saw all the geese and swans, then played on the swings then headed downtown to meet our freind Marco and enjoy the good weather!
Sofia especially enjoyed Mosebacke where there were lots of stones to pick up and an old telephone box she wouldn’t come out of for 20 minutes…
After that we met Mummy and ate Thai food while sitting in the gardens at City Hall.
